In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Cullompton Football Club secured a commanding victory over Dartmouth in their penultimate game of the season, paving the way for a strong finish. The match, which ended with a staggering 7-0 scoreline, was held at Dartmouth's home ground.
Cullompton kicked off the match with high energy, quickly taking control of the game. The opening goal came 15 minutes into the game when Aiden Horne capitalised on a precise through ball from teammate Sam Bryant, firing the ball into the net from 12 yards out. The team maintained pressure throughout the first half, culminating in Lloyd White's last-minute goal before the break, doubling their lead.
The second half saw no reprieve for the home team as Cullompton continued their dominance. Lloyd White quickly dashed any hopes of a Dartmouth comeback with his second goal of the match just five minutes after the restart. The goals kept coming, with Aiden Horne scoring two more to complete his hat trick and Lloyd White adding another to his tally, also completing a hat trick.
Aiden Horne wasn’t done yet, though, and in the 86th minute, he scored his fourth goal of the match, bringing the final score to 7-0. This comprehensive victory showcased Cullompton’s potent attack and solid teamwork, leaving the Dartmouth side visibly demoralized.
With this win, Cullompton has solidified their reputation as a formidable force in the league, while Dartmouth faces the harsh reality of potential relegation. As the season nears its conclusion, Cullompton looks to maintain their momentum in the final game, and if Dartmouth is relegated, we wish them the best in their efforts to return stronger next season.
