Local Winners Shine at the 2024 Food Drink Devon Awards

Cullompton's food and drink producers made a mark at the prestigious 2024 Food Drink Devon Awards, held at Sandy Park, Exeter, on Monday, 7th October. The event celebrated Devon’s culinary excellence, with over 450 of the county's top producers, hospitality businesses, and retailers in attendance. Amongst the standout winners were several Cullompton-based businesses, recognized for their outstanding products.

Pipers Farm Takes Top Prize

Cullompton's own Pipers Farm secured the coveted Food Product of the Year award for their Boneless Rib of Beef. Judges praised the product for its superior quality and flavour, acknowledging the farm’s dedication to producing ethically reared, high-quality meat. This accolade highlights Pipers Farm's ongoing commitment to sustainable farming and excellence in food production.

Ventons Devon Cyder Wins Big

Another local triumph came from Ventons Devon Cyder, also based in Cullompton, who won Drink Product of the Year for their Thirst Responder. The award recognized Ventons for their innovative approach to traditional cider-making, offering a product that stood out in a competitive field. Judges commended the drink's refreshing taste and craftsmanship.

Platinum Producer Awards

Cullompton-based Pipers Farm also earned a Platinum Producer Award for their Boneless Rib of Beef, a further testament to their dedication to quality. These prestigious awards are given to products that score 100% during blind tasting sessions, showcasing the best of Devon's food and drink.

The Food Drink Devon Awards continue to recognise the vibrant and innovative food culture in the region, with Cullompton’s producers playing a key role in driving this forward.
