The anticipated car boot sale scheduled for 13th April at the CCA fields has been officially cancelled, organizers announced today. The decision comes after an evaluation of the field conditions, which have been significantly affected by recent and ongoing rain, leaving the grounds waterlogged and unsuitable for the event.
The Cullompton Community Association (CCA), responsible for organising the popular local event, expressed disappointment over the cancellation but emphasised the importance of safety and the quality of the experience for vendors and visitors. "The forecast is rain every day until then so [there's] no hope of drying out," a spokesperson for the CCA remarked, highlighting the group's commitment to ensuring the event is enjoyable and safe for all participants.
Residents and regular attendees of the car boot sale have expressed their understanding, albeit with a tinge of disappointment. The monthly event has become a staple in the community's calendar, offering a space for local sellers to showcase a wide array of goods, from household items to collectables, and for buyers to uncover hidden treasures.
Looking forward, the CCA remains optimistic about the next scheduled car boot sale on 11th May. Plans are already underway to create an event that will not only compensate for the April cancellation but also bring the community together in what is hoped to be better weather conditions. An official event announcement and details will be made available soon, with organisers encouraging both vendors and attendees to mark their calendars.
The CCA thanks the community for its continued support and understanding during this time. They remind everyone to stay tuned for updates on the May event, promising an exciting return for one of Cullompton's cherished community gatherings.
