The much-anticipated annual Cullompton Spring Festival is poised to take over the town centre on Saturday, 13 April, from 9.30 am to 2 pm, promising a day rich with community spirit and cultural celebration.

According to the festival's organizer, Judy Morris, this year's edition places a strong emphasis on community integration and local venue showcase. To bolster this aim, the festival will feature Eastern European cultural representations, including Bulgarian dancers, Ukrainian singers at the Farmers Market, and chefs from Romania and Ukraine at the family cookery event in the Town Hall.

One of the fresh additions this year is the High Street Easter Trail, inviting families to explore and engage with the festivities actively. Trail forms can be collected from the Hayridge, with completed forms to be returned by the event's culmination.

Among the plethora of free family-oriented activities, children can enjoy drop-in planting workshops in the Walronds garden. Furthermore, the event will provide complimentary materials for participants to plant a hanging basket at the Farmers Market.

Not to be overlooked are the food stalls at the Farmers Market and craft stalls in the Walronds garden, set to entice visitors with local produce and artisanal creations. The Baptist Church will serve cream teas to fundraise for School Pastors, and the Hayridge Library offers craft activities alongside its regular Lego and coding clubs.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, The Higher Beings Stilt Walkers, Bradninch Millers Morris Men, Cullompton Ace Majorettes, and Ukes of Wellington will be performing throughout the town centre.

Participants keen on crafting a miniature garden can join the competition either by submitting their creation on Friday afternoon or attending the workshop on the festival day. For the cooking enthusiasts, the "Families Cooking Together" event beckons with sessions that feature Romanian or Ukrainian cuisines.

The Cullompton Spring and Autumn Festivals are fixtures in the local calendar, made possible by a dedicated committee of volunteers. These events offer a chance to discover the range of goods and services local shops and businesses have to offer, alongside the town's inviting eateries.
