In a generous display of community support, the Charity Shop located in Hemyock Church Rooms has recently distributed £800 among several local charities and clubs as part of its annual giveaway. This year, the fortunate recipients included Hemyock Youth Club, Hemyock Community Shed, and the Mary Waldron Trust.
The Mary Waldron Trust plays a crucial role in the community by supporting local students with materials necessary for their studies, thereby fostering educational growth. Similarly, the contributions to Hemyock Youth Club and Hemyock Community Shed will aid in sustaining their vital services that benefit the local youth and provide communal spaces for crafting and collaboration.
Brian Samuels, a representative of the Charity Shop, emphasized their commitment to supporting local causes. "We aim to give away 25% of our profits to organizations who are local and who support those in our parish and surrounding areas; this is usually at the rate of 3 organizations per year," said Samuels. He also noted that no group has received a second donation yet, highlighting the wide range of initiatives supported by the shop.
The Charity Shop's annual giveaway is a testament to the shop’s enduring dedication to the community of Hemyock, continually supporting new groups each year to spread the positive impact across various sectors within the community.
Photos from the event, showcasing volunteers at the Charity Shop and representatives from the Hemyock Community Shed and Hemyock Youth Club, were shared with the community, illustrating the collaborative spirit of this initiative.
This benevolent effort not only provides essential funding to local organizations but also strengthens the community ties, ensuring that Hemyock remains a supportive and thriving environment for all its residents.
