Re:Fuel, in partnership with the Devon Austin Sevens car club, is set to host a unique event aimed at fostering a love for vintage cars among the younger generation. Scheduled for this Sunday, April 14, at Re:Fuel on Willand Road near Cullompton, the event will start at 9 AM and promises a day packed with activities centred around classic automobiles.

The highlight of the day will be the hands-on experiences designed for young attendees. Under the guidance of seasoned Austin Seven owners, participants will learn about the mechanics of an authentic Austin engine. Moreover, they'll have the rare opportunity to drive a vintage car themselves. Even those without a driver’s license can take a spin around a safe, controlled course, getting a feel for driving an Austin Seven.

Dan Regan, co-founder and director of Re:Fuel, expressed his enthusiasm about the initiative, saying, "We are thrilled to be working with the Devon Sevens to encourage interest in vintage cars amongst the younger generations of petrolheads. This one-of-a-kind event aims to spark an interest in vintage cars that will sow the seeds for there to be knowledgeable, passionate owners to keep these beautiful cars going in future generations."

The event is open to all—from young adults curious about automotive history to parents and grandparents eager to introduce their young ones to the motoring world of yesteryears. Re:Fuel, known as the Southwest's premier destination for car enthusiasts, offers a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where all car lovers can meet, relax, and celebrate their passion.

David Aylmore, club secretary at the Devon Sevens, also commented on the event's purpose: "We are actively trying to recruit more young members. By hosting events aimed at educating younger generations on vintage cars, we hope to keep passions high and vintage cars on the road for years to come."

The Devon Sevens, a club for enthusiasts of pre-war Austin 7s, continues to promote the use, maintenance, and restoration of these iconic vehicles, providing a valuable resource for anyone interested in the era’s automotive heritage. This Sunday’s event promises to be an engaging and educational experience for all attendees.
